DG Youth Council-Climate Change & Environment Group

2020-10-07  •  admin  •  Ward 9 - Nith

We are the Environment & Climate Change Action Group for Dumfries & Galloway Youth Council and we’re applying for funding to cover the costs of training and team-building opportunities that’ll help us be effective in our role. Young people across D&G are worried about their future and the future of our area, country, and planet. The mental and physical well-being of young people and the issues facing our environment are linked and we are applying for funding for training that’ll help us support young people in our communities.

Oasis Events Team - Music & Me

2020-10-06  •  admin  •  Ward 9 - Nith

Writing, making, playing and listening to music helps young people to say how they feel and can help people to feel better. We want to use this funding to upgrade the Music Room and Recording Studio in the Oasis Youth Centre because the equipment is out of date and many of the instruments need repaired for young people to be able to properly use it.

Wigtownshire Rugby Club

2020-10-05  •  admin  •  Ward 1 - Stranraer and The Rhins

We are applying because of the amount of young people taking part in training, we are having to purchase extra equipment that suits this age group. They are all looking for as much time as is possible to be given to help them achieve a high level of fitness which in turn promotes a healthier level of living. This would not be possible without the help of our SRU trained coaches and out Trustees commitment to the game. As a registered charity we promote the game right from P1 up to senior levels which involves over 15 registered coaches who give their time freely to this project which training now spread over every night and Sundays. The level of training puts a lot of wear and tear on our training equipment. We have recently had to purchase some new training tools for our two senior teams but would appreciate help with the junior teams.
