Animals Supporting People at FRED CIC can help tackle poverty in Dumfries and Galloway by supporting people to get into work, return to work and remain in work. Our animal assisted therapy courses enhances communication, reduces isolation, enables people to regain confidence and helps to develop personal and social skills. This makes a real difference to peoples lives and helps to facilitate integration into the local community thereby mitigating some of the inequalities caused by poverty. Participants work with our donkeys, ponies, tortoises and other animals, learning about them and themselves in a supportive environment.
