The Food Train delivers vital services to enable older people to remain living in their own homes should they so wish, thereby relieving stress on Social Services and the NHS. Our services which are a grocery shopping and delivery service, our 'Extra' odd jobs service and a 1-2-1 befriending and group outing service address issues which affect older people living in rural areas like loneliness and social isolation, nutrition and transport. We deliver our services across the entire Stewartry area with a team of hard working and dedicated volunteers. However, without reliable vans our service could not take place. One of our vans is starting to need a lot of expensive repair work and needs replacement. We would be very grateful for funding towards a replacement van which would help us to continue supporting our customers who currently number 94 in the Stewartry area and rely on us heavily.
