We offer shopping, befriending and household support for people aged 65+. We want older people to retain independence by ensuring they have fresh groceries, nutritious food, meaningful companionship, help at home and access to further support. We cover every part of Wigtownshire from offices in Newton Stewart and Stranraer, supporting around 130 older people, mostly aged 80+. Through volunteers, we provide a targeted, effective, flexible service with low cost inputs, affordable to all older people and playing a critical role in delaying the onset of higher cost care packages. We have one staff member who manages the services, but with the breadth of support we offer, we couldn't do anything without volunteers.
